About Street Group.

Street Group is one of the fastest-growing PropTech companies in the UK. We want to be the leading creator of delightful experiences for everybody involved in buying, selling, renting and letting property, regardless of their involvement, to improve the industry for everybody by elevating UK Estate Agencies through world-class technology.

Street.co.uk is our game-changing CRM: a truly modern estate agency platform, creating a next-level digital experience for customers, putting transparency, user experience and beautiful design at the heart of our industry.

Street is also the first CRM in our entire industry to have an open API. Our API team focuses on building the most interesting and useful APIs for agents; working with large clients and household names, through to independent devs who are building cool things with Street.

As a Software Engineer in our APIs team, you'll work closely with each of our Street development teams to curate a real understanding of the product, enabling you to build APIs that are high quality and right first time. You’ll build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, to make sure we’re building the most valuable APIs for clients and that they’re getting the support they need. And you’ll work closely with our small API team, with mentoring opportunities available, if you’re interested.

This would be a great fit for you if you’re someone who enjoys short feedback loops and seeing value in the hands of customers quickly. You’ll be able to see the impact of small changes quickly and make a real difference for folks building on the API. So if you love autonomy, are naturally curious, value getting code quality right first time, and want to have a genuine impact within a growing company, we think you’d fit right in!

A bit about the job.

  • Writing easy-to-understand documentation
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to build and support their APIs
  • Supporting our junior engineer, both with queries/support and mentoring their development skills (if this is something you’re interested in)

A bit about you.

  • You have commercial experience working with PHP and Laravel
  • You have experience building, or ideally consuming, APIs, and are happy to share your experiences about good APIs look like from a user perspective
  • You’re happy to roll up your sleeves and get familiar with all parts of the street.co.uk codebase, to build the best APIs possible
  • You’re passionate about coding standards and best practices
  • You’re a great communicator, have strong attention to detail, and know the value of good documentation
